Most drivers obey the rules of the beach. If the park rangers would enforce the rules of the beach it would not be much of a problem. My family and I have quit coming to the outer banks and will not come back. I think all donations to the park service should be stopped along with operation beach respect. The park service is killing the economy in the outer banks.OPEN THE BEACHES AS IT WAS DESIGNED FOR AND HELP THE ECONOMY GOING.....Bill Brocknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5430376008625901414.post-16801651062537394452011-07-27T21:30:11.604-04:002011-07-27T21:30:11.604-04:00Good to see you are well enough to help us again!Good to see you are well enough to help us again!Barbara Ackleynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5430376008625901414.post-77643055565918097972011-07-27T21:27:56.042-04:002011-07-27T21:27:56.042-04:00Having come down to OBX for the past 25 Years from...Having come down to OBX for the past 25 Years from Canada, I cannot believe we are at this point. We used to share the beach with the plovers. They were on the other side of the dunes... What about the Audubon society's mandate of preserving ecosystems? In the past years, NPS has gased Birds, kills predators all on behalf of the Plovers... An Ecosystem need all the animals and wildlife to comlete the circle. Furthermore, if they are worried about the plovers being in a state of extinction, send them to Manitoba! They are a pest down there. I am sure our government would send OBX a few of the birds to build up the population and leave ORVers alone. I hate having to stay on OBX and not being able to get to the point. Camping in Rodanthe therefore does not allow me to support the Buxton area merchants because I don't stop there until the point opens. This year, that was nearly four weeks after arriving in OBX!!!

As a Canadian, I don't think my comments would be received by your governement, but consider this, in the past 10 years, I have convinced over 20 families to visit OBX and go ORVing. Some come back every year, some have stopped coming because the beaches are closed!!!Richard Michaud (Ottawa, Canda)noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5430376008625901414.post-84736751263039321572011-07-27T18:25:32.933-04:002011-07-27T18:25:32.933-04:00Please submit a comment and ask everyone you know ...Please submit a comment and ask everyone you know that loves the Outer Banks to do the same.
The alternative plans they have published and are looking to put into rule could close beaches for the next 10 to 15 years. After that time, the Cape Hatteras and Ocracoke Island we knew will cease to exist.
Be Apart Of History And Help Us Preserve Free And Open Beach AccessBill Tiptonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15363919028351873124noreply@blogger.com
